The Outdoor Challenge is a contest. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. All 4-H members with any type of dog are welcome to join. Leadership Lab will be held June 22nd – 24th  for 4-H members ages 13-18 at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood.   This event provides a variety of leadership, recreation, and project enhancement workshops that participants are challenged to take back to their own county and implement.  District 4-H Council Delegates are encouraged to attend and participate in the District 4-H Council Business Meeting which includes the election of District Officers for the new 2016-2017 4-H year.    Cost is $200 per youth with registration conducted on 4-H... The Texas 4-H Ambassador program strives to provide high school age 4-H members (14 – 18 years) the opportunity to develop and practice advanced leadership skills related to mentoring other youth, and to become advocates for animals. The Piney Woods Conservation Adventure Camp (PWCAC) is designed to educate 4-H youth age 14+ (with 1 year of school remaining) about wildlife and fisheries, and to inspire them to be future leaders for natural resource conservation in Texas.  Camp is scheduled for July 12th – July 15th at Rayburn Country, 2376 Wingate Blvd., Jasper, Tx.  Cost is $300 includes meals and lodging.  Deadline is June 1st.  For more information and a application click here.

  4-H Ambassadors are a special group of selected youth (ages 12 -18) who represent and promote the Bexar County 4-H program and Texas 4-H programs at various local/regional events. Ambassadors are role models for other youth. They are respectful, polite and helpful with other 4-H members, adult leaders, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension staff. Ambassadors are teachers. Put all your photos together and get that scrapbook done.  Scrapbooks are due to our office on or before Monday, June 6th - 8:00 a.m.  There will be cash awards for 1st - 3rd placings.  Scrapbook guidelines are available here.    NO LATE SCRAPBOOKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Clubs  have an  opportunity to  apply  for  this  award  by completing the 4-H Honor Club Form.   The form is due our office on or before Monday, June 6th – 8:00 a.m.   Your club name will be put on the Honor Club plaque in our office.  Reminder, there is a drop slot in the front door to assist you in making deadlines.  Honor Club form is available here.
