October 19, 2019 (Saturday) – Bugtoberfest 2109 Keynote Presentation and Four-Course Insect Tasting
Families can sink their teeth into four chef demonstrated recipes featuring creepy crawlers including crickets, grasshoppers, mealworms and black ants. The lineup for chefs this year will include Angie Gutierrez from Texas A&M AgriLife, Chef Michael Grimes co-founder of Southern Grit Flavor, Chef Toby Soto owner of Humo of San Antonio and Chef Katrina Flores from San Antonio Botanical Garden. These local chefs will enlighten visitors about the sustainability and high protein power of insects. Menu forthcoming, but trust it will be memorable and tasty! Ticketed program features Jonathan Cammack, chief operating officer at EVO Conversion Systems, who will talk on the modern entomophagy movement, the use of insects as food and feed. All ages welcome!
$25 per person ($22.50 member) for keynote and tastings
