The School Tours program gives young students and their teachers the opportunity to learn about the past and present methods of agriculture. School Tours are offered to students in Kindergarten through third grade attending public, private and home schools. High School aged students of the 4-H, FFA and FCCLA organizations from South Texas are invited each year to serve as Tour Guides for this committee. January 12 (Saturday) will be Growing a Family Home Orchard, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon, at Milberger's Landscaping & Nursery (3920 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio). SAN ANTONIO STOCK SHOW YOUTH DAY – We have received the sign up form for Youth Day and Youth Day will now be officially offered on 2 Saturdays instead of one! Dr. Larry Stein, Extension Horticulturist, will demonstrate how to properly prune fruit, nut, citrus and grapes for maximum production. This seminar is FREE and no RSVP is required.
January 25 (Friday) will be a Structural CEU Course, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00, at the San Antonio Botanical Garden (555 Funston Avenue, San Antonio) in Classrooms A&B. This course will offer six (6) CEUs for structural applicators (5 CEUs for TDA Ag licences). Cost of the course is $60.00, and online registration is required.
