This year many District Contests are being combined into a one weekend event. The District Food Show & Food Challenge, Beef & Horse Quiz Bowls, Nutrition Quiz Bowl, Roundup Public Speaking, District Entomology and District Leaders for Life contests will be Thursday, Dec. 1st – Saturday, Dec. 3rd at the Hill Country Youth Center, 3785 Highway 27, Kerrville, Tx. 78028. Ft. Worth Stock Show entry form is due to our office by Thursday, Nov. 10th. The entry form states a deadline of November 15th, that is our office deadline to the stock show. The Texas 4-H Program is beginning a new series which focuses on educating young people on career and education opportunities in the area of STEM. The November 10th webinar is entitled “Science and the Movies” and will feature Tim McLaughin who will talk about his work in the film industry and working on such films as Star Wars: Episode I, as well as others. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July.
