The District 5 4‐H Youth Development Program is pleased to announce an opportunity for county 4‐H programs to have adult volunteers, teen leaders and County Extension Agents certified as coaches in the following shooting sports disciplines: archery, pistol, shotgun or rifle. National 4-H Council is now accepting applications for the 2017 4-H Youth in Action Awards to be presented at the Legacy Awards in Washington, D.C. on March 21, 2017.  Awards will recognize one remarkable 4-H’er within each pillar area: Agriculture; Citizenship; Healthy Living; and STEM. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. Kerr County is hosting a Robotics training on Saturday, Oct. 29th at the Kerr County Extension Office, 3775 Hwy 27, Kerrville, Tx.  from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. This training is open to youth and adults.  Cost is $5, lunch is on your own.  For more information click here.

All adult volunteers that enroll on 4-H Connect  beginning Sept. 1st  must  complete two online training's on 4-H Connect “4-H Adult Orientation” and “Ensuring a Safe Environment”.  This is part of the volunteer application process and you will not be approved until these training have been completed.  Click here for step by step instructions on how to take these training's.

The Bexar County Junior Livestock Show offers more than just exhibiting  animals.  Photography and Creative Arts entry forms are available on the Bexar County Junior Livestock show’s website at http://bcjls.com/Rules/RWH_CreativeArtsEntry.pdf.  Entry form and money are due to your club manager before Nov. 1st.  ENTRIES ARE NOT TO BE TURNED IN TO THE 4-H OFFICE, give them to your club leader.

Calling all aspiring 4-H artists!  Share your artwork and it could be featured in an upcoming 4-H calendar. Fill out the form on the State 4-H website at http://4-h.org/4-h-calendar/.  Deadline is Nov. 1st.
