The 2016 District 10 4-H Conference will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Comfort High School in Comfort, TX. This conference will feature four (4) rotating sessions for youth and adults. These sessions will offer various training on available contests and project opportunities. The day will kick off with the rotation sessions, then lunch and some fun games and activities. If you will be exhibiting at the State Fair Show in Dallas, Sept. 30th – Oct. 23rd, entries are due to our office by Wednesday, August 17th. Please complete the entry form, certification, release and indemnity agreement and the W-9 IRS form. There are other contests available if interested (Public Speaking, Agricultural Science Fair, Livestock Judging, Ag. Food Challenge, Ag. Mechanics, etc.). A Livestock Judging orientation meeting is planned for Thursday, August 25th 6:30 p.m. at the County 4-H office in S-208. If you have an interest in learning about livestock evaluation, basic terminology and oral reason preparation/delivery, make plans to attend. Livestock judging teaches critical thinking, decision making and public speaking skills. There are divisions for all ages so anyone is welcome to participate.

If you will be exhibiting chickens (broilers) at the 2016 Bexar County Junior Livestock Show on December 28th, order your broilers on the form here. Broilers are $1.80 each. Each exhibitor or family must purchase a minimum order of 25 chicks. Maximum order is 50 chicks per exhibitor. Deadline to order is Thursday, September 1st. What difference can you make in one day? Saturday, October 8th is the 2016 One Day 4-H Community Service Day. Any and all 4-H members, parents, and friends can participate in this day designated as a day of community service for all 4-H members. 4-H clubs/members select their project and then plan, implement, and tell about them.
