Backyard Basics Expo

Mark your calendars for the Backyard Basics Expo!  This event will be held at the San Antonio Garden Center (3310 N. New Braunfels, San Antonio) from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  This year's Expo will feature educational sessions covering topics such as backyard chickens, making jerky, cuts of beef, growing fruit trees, drip irrigation, vegetable gardening, beekeeping and pollinators, and making salsa!  Cost is $20 (adults & youth age 11+); $25 after August 1.  Children age 10 and under are FREE.  Online registration is required.

Information:  If you are going to exhibit turkeys at the 2018 Bexar County Show or the 2019 San Antonio, Houston or Rodeo Austin stock shows, order on the form available here.   If  you order turkey poults for the Bexar County Show, those birds are not eligible to exhibit at any major shows. Date:  Form and money are due  to our office (3355 Cherry Ridge, S-212, SA, Tx.  78230) by Friday, August 10, 2018 Cost:  $4.25 per turkey poult.  Make check payable to Bexar 4-H Fund.

Forage Management Workshop

Bexar County Stock Show Broiler Order

Quality Counts

Every 4-H member that will exhibit an animal at any stock show must view the Quality Counts on line course and complete an exam.    The on line course will take about 2 hours, please plan ahead and give yourself enough time.  You will need to create a profile.  Members can access the website here.  Please print out a copy of your certificate.
