During the Beekeeping Basics course, a hands-on field day to a beekeeper's yard will be included. Program participants will elect to attend one of two field days to be conducted on April 14 and 15. A bee suit will be provided. Field day times are weather dependent. Address and maps will be provided to registered participants. Locations are subject to change.
Dr. Larry Stein, Extension Horticulturist, will be conducting his Annual Grafting Seminar at Saturday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Dr. Stein will demonstrate how and why fruit, nut, and citrus trees are grafted and will include several different grafting techniques. You will also learn about the overall care of your fruit and nut trees. Arrive early! This seminar is very popular and FREE; no RSVP required.

May 3 (Thursday) – will be session one of the Brush Country Beef 706 Program. This 3-part series will focus on beef quality management and marketing opportunities for producers. The May 3 session will be held at the Live Oak Livestock Market Auction (3795 U.S. 281) in Three Rivers, Texas. Other sessions will be held on October 20 and October 29-30 (see flyer for details). Cost of the program is $50/participant for all three sessions.

A Beef Cattle Rebuilding Workshop will be held at the Edmond Pruski Ranch (1406 FM 1303, Floresville, TX) on Friday, May 4, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The workshop will include selection and management of replacement females, nutrition, brush management, as well as a chute-side demonstration.
