The District 5 4‐H Youth Development Program is pleased to announce an opportunity for county 4‐H programs to have adult volunteers, teen leaders and County Extension Agents certified as coaches in the following shooting sports disciplines: archery, pistol, shotgun or rifle. National 4-H Council is now accepting applications for the 2017 4-H Youth in Action Awards to be presented at the Legacy Awards in Washington, D.C. on March 21, 2017. Awards will recognize one remarkable 4-H’er within each pillar area: Agriculture; Citizenship; Healthy Living; and STEM. Each of the four 4-H Youth in Action Awards pillar winners will receive: a scholarship, trip to Washington DC and serve as the National Youth Spokesperson for their recognized pillar area. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. All adult volunteers that enroll on 4-H Connect beginning Sept. 1st must complete two online training's on 4-H Connect “4-H Adult Orientation” and “Ensuring a Safe Environment”. Entry form and money are due to your club manager before Nov. 1st. ENTRIES ARE NOT TO BE TURNED IN TO THE 4-H OFFICE, give them to your club leader.
