If you are 12 years old (before August 31, 2018) and will not be past your junior year in high school, you are eligible to participate in the calf scramble. If selected to scramble, you will attend a rodeo performance and attempt to catch a wild calf. If you catch a calf, you will receive a certificate to purchase an animal, you then are required to exhibit it at the show the following year. The School Tours program gives young students and their teachers the opportunity to learn about the past and present methods of agriculture. School Tours are offered to students in Kindergarten through third grade attending public, private and home schools. High School aged students of the 4-H, FFA and FCCLA organizations from South Texas are invited each year to serve as Tour Guides for this committee.
