Summer Entomology Camp (Ages 7-12)

Do you love nature, insects, and science?  Entomology Youth Camp is geared for ages 7-12 where insect lovers learn all about entomology and the importance of insects, perform experiments with insects, collect insects and assemble an insect collection.  Spots are limited and we fill up fast, so be sure to register early!  Camp runs 3 days, 9am-2pm (bring a sack lunch).

Camp will be held indoors in air conditioning, but we will spend as much time as we can outside, collecting and observing.  Locations vary each summer.  Come join us for fun!

Both camp options will be held indoors in air conditioning, but this is a camp to encourage a love of nature, so we will be spending as much time as the weather allows us to outdoors collecting, walking trails, and learning about how insects and nature interact (so dress for summer heat!).

Below is some additional information about the camp and the costs.

This camp is geared through years of design to be best for ages 7-12.  If you have an interested camper who is younger or older, please contact Molly Keck (mekeck@ag.tamu.edu).

Summer Entomology Camps

Campers get the chance to learn all about entomology and become junior entomologists.  We will perform experiments and activities with insects, get to hold tarantulas, roaches, millipedes and more. Campers will also collect insects and put together an insect collection.  Campers will receive a student collection kit, complete with professional net, all the materials needed to collect and pin insects, a collection bag, and collection box.  For more information, contact Molly at mekeck@ag.tamu.edu or 210/631-0400.  Camps always fill up fast with a long waiting list, so be sure to get registered as soon as registration information is posted!
