  • Plant cool season flowers such as snapdragons, pansies, and flowering kale.
  • Apply Manage or Image to kill nutsedge in the flower beds. Nutsedge has several small nutlets attached to the roots. If you pull them up, the nutlets will break off and form new plants.
  • Sow wildflower seeds now. Locate a sunny spot for these beauties and cultivate the soil lightly prior to planting. Remove weeds to reduce competition with your wildflowers.
  • Deadhead zinnias, marigolds, salvias and other flowering plants to stimulate more flowering for your enjoyment.
