We all need to be better stewards of our landscape environment. You can! Simply take the Earth-Kind Challenge at http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/earthkind/.

Before any chemical is used in the garden or landscape, read and understand all labels thoroughly and completely before you spray. Use only those chemicals recommended for that particular plant or fruit that you are growing. Remember, even organic or natural products are considered pesticides.

Need help in deciding what and when to plant in the spring vegetable garden? Go to your local Texas AgriLife Extension Service vegetable list at: http://bexar-tx.tamu.edu/HomeHort/F4Best/nspringveg.htm.

With many people replacing their lawns this spring, Tiff Way 419 Bermudagrass, Floratam St. Augustine and Palisades Zoysia are turf grasses best suited to a full sun location. Palmetto and Del Mar St. Augustine selections are a more shade tolerant turfgrass.
