  4-H Ambassadors are a special group of selected youth (ages 12 -18) who represent and promote the Bexar County 4-H program and Texas 4-H programs at various local/regional events. Ambassadors are role models for other youth. They are respectful, polite and helpful with other 4-H members, adult leaders, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension staff. Ambassadors are teachers. Put all your photos together and get that scrapbook done.  Scrapbooks are due to our office on or before Monday, June 6th - 8:00 a.m.  There will be cash awards for 1st - 3rd placings.  Scrapbook guidelines are available here.    NO LATE SCRAPBOOKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Clubs  have an  opportunity to  apply  for  this  award  by completing the 4-H Honor Club Form.   The form is due our office on or before Monday, June 6th – 8:00 a.m.   Your club name will be put on the Honor Club plaque in our office.  Reminder, there is a drop slot in the front door to assist you in making deadlines.  Honor Club form is available here.

These awards are for 4-H’ers 11-18 years old.  Bronze Star is for ages 11 – 12, Silver Star is for ages 13-14 and Gold Star is for ages 15-18. Mark your calendar for July 11th – 14th at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood.  This high energy fast paced program takes everything to the EXTREME.  Programs will include: Fishing, Kayaking, Advanced Challege Course and more!  This camp is for 4-H members in grades 8th – 11th.  Cost is $230/youth or $110/adult.  Registration is open until June 12th.  For more information visit the state website at http://texas4hcenter.tamu.edu.

Horizons is a camp featuring five different 4-H project learning programs. Each participant will select from one of the five programs to be offered. Prime Time is a co-educational residential camp featuring traditional camp experiences such as kayaking, shooting sports, challenge course, dancing, swimming and lots more. This camp is an inclusive camp for youth with and without disabilities. Fun activities will include: kayaking, shooting sports, challenge course, arts and crafts, environmental education, swimming, dancing, and lots more. District 10 Horse Show is scheduled for June 14 - 15, 2016 at the Uvalde County Fairplex in Uvalde.

All recordbooks were due to our office on Monday, June 6th, now the books will be judged on Friday, June 17th from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  We will need adult volunteer judges, please contact our office if you can help judge recordbooks.

We are excited to announce the return of the Youth Agricultural Lifetime Leadership Tour for 2016!! This year’s tour will be a 6 day trek (July 24-29) through West Texas.  Youth were exposed to different aspects of agriculture which in turn gives them insight into different career opportunities they never knew existed. Broiler order is due to our office by Monday, June 20th.  Please fill out the order form available here.  Minimum order per exhibitor/family is 25 chicks, maximum order is 75, in increments of 25 .  – New for 2016: each exhibitor MAY order an individual set of birds (up to 75) OR siblings within the same household may order and share a set of birds (up to 75).  Cost is $1.25 per chick.  Make your check payable to Bexar 4-H Fund.
