Youth camp geared for ages 7 and up. Campers will collect insects, assemble collection, perform experiments and activities with insects, learn how to identify insects and how they are important and get the chance to see and hold lots of live bugs! Campers receive an insect collection kit (net, forceps, killing jar, pins, spreading boards, magnifier, booklet, pens, collection box, vials, and collecting bag). Come join us for the fun! This camp is now FULL; however, you can add your name to an online Waiting List.
This camp scheduled for July 31 – Aug.2 in Canyon, Tx will provide learning opportunities for members (ages 11 – 18) participating in the Vet Science program. Cost is $150. Space is limited. Registration is on 4-H Connect by July 24th. For more information see flyer here.
Participants grades 2 - 11 will have the opportunity to learn everything they need to know about fishing in Texas waters, from creating lures to permit laws. They will get to participate in their favorite events such as challenge course, dances and more. Mark your calendar for July 24-26 at the 4-H Center in Brownwood. Cost is $220/youth or $110/adult. If you have a young one interested in entomology, insects and nature - join us for our annual Junior Entomology Camp. Meant for ages 4-6. Includes collecting insects, playing with live insects, learning about insects, and performing activities and experiments with insects. The Bexar County 4-H Awards Program welcomes all 4-H youth and their families to celebrate the end of the 2016-2017 4-H Year! If you are exhibiting animals, please complete the entry form, certification, release and indemnity agreement and the W-9 IRS forms available here. Make your check payable to “Bexar 4-H Fund”. August 19 (Saturday) - December 2, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, will be the Fall 2017 Children's Vegetable Garden Program for children ages 8-13 to get hands-on horticulture experience; cost is $40 per plot for 1 child or $60/shared plot for 2 children. This program provides an opportunity for children to grow their own vegetables and ornamental plants with the help of instructors from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Bexar County Master Gardener volunteers.
