These workshops are open to all 4-H ages and are a learning series to help youth meet their required learning lessons in the veterinary science project. Some lessons will be in a classroom, but several lessons will be hands on. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 28h at 5:30 p.m. at the Hooves and Paws Vet Clinic, 16060-1 Bandera Rd., Helotes, Tx. 78023. Recordbooks are a great way to keep track of what you have done in 4-H. When you decide to do a recordbook, you pick one category you want to complete your recordbook in. If rabbits were your strongest project this year, you would select the Rabbit category, which includes writing about them in your story, including pictures of you and your rabbits, a write up of how you cared for them and if you exhibited at any contests. A coloring and art contest for Texas 4-H members is being sponsored by TVMDL. Clover Kids Coloring Contest (Kindergarten to 2nd Grade). The 50th anniversary logo contains images of the many species of animals tested each day. Clover Kids can print the logo (PAGE 3) and express their creativity in coloring the image. 10:30 - 12:00 noon, FREE seminar conducted by David Rodriguez, County Extension Director, at Milberger Nursery (3920 N. Loop 1604 East) where he will discuss the basics of lawn maintenance through proper nutrition, mowing, weed control and irrigation. This seminar is very popular so arrive early for best parking and seating. Seminar is free. 1.5 CEU’s for Master Gardeners who attend.

Swine validation for State Fair of Texas (Dallas) will be conducted in June. Date, time and location will be announced soon. Ear tags, hair samples and nose prints will be taken.
