Join us on Tuesday, November 7, 7:00 p.m., at the San Antonio Botanical Center (3310 N. New Braunfels, San Antonio) for an evening with Steven Chamblee, author and chief horticulturist of Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, Texas. Steven will discuss the best of the best native and adapted plants for our gardens. A $5 donation is requested.

A South Region Landowner Series will be conducted this fall with sessions held in Bexar, Kerr, Atascosa, and Medina counties. Pesticide CEUs will be offered. The Food Handlers Permit Class is a basic overview of food safety practices that are necessary to ensure you serve safe food at your establishment. The Texas Department of State Health Services accredited food handlers program is now being offered at the Bexar County Office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Cost is $20, and the permit is good for two (2) years! See flyer for details.
Study manuals can be purchased for $50 in advance from the Extension Office. Make check/money order payable to "Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service". The 2018 Beef Cattle Short Course will include two different sessions, Tuesday, January 9, and Tuesday, January 16, each at the Performing Arts, Room 101, of Palo Alto College (1400 Villaret Blvd., San Antonio, 78224). Each session begins with registration at 6:00 p.m. and the program starting at 6:30 p.m. See the flyer for other details and session topics. A total of 3 CEUs for Licensed Private Applicators can be obtained by attending both sessions. RSVPs are requested by January 5.

The Master Wellness Volunteer Training begins with a face-to-face training on Saturday, January 20, at the Bexar County Extension Office, Ste. 208, and continues with weekly online study until the final face-to-face training on Saturday, February 10. Cost is $75 ($25 for students), and online registration is due by January 19, 2018. If you have a passion for health and wellness, this is your opportunity to share your passion to benefit others.

Deadline for submitting the Bexar County Extension Master Gardener Intern Training - Class #62 application is Friday, February 9. Classes begin February 21 and end May 16 and will be held each Wednesday, 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m., at the Bexar County Extension Office (3355 Cherry Ridge, Suite 208), unless otherwise instructed; cost is $260. A Healthy Lawns & Healthy Waters Program will be conducted February 23, 1:00-5:00 p.m., (agenda) at the Bexar County Extension Office (3355 Cherry Ridge, Suite 208). Program participants can pick up a soil sample bag and instructions at the Bexar County Extension Office at least one day prior to the training and bring the soil and completed form to the program for a FREE routine soil analysis (one per family); the program is FREE but online registration is required.
