A Taste of Fiesta will be held Saturday, Aprill 22, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, at the Bexar County Extension Office. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. Beef Cattle Herd Rebuilding Workshop, 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Mark Luensmann Ranch (115679 FM 775, LaVernia). Cost is $20. RSVP by Tuesday, May 9. Includes 2 CEUs. Participation in workshop will require attendees to bring 3-5 docile cows that have been exposed to a bull over 90 days and possibly one cow that is open. Participants may attend the 2017 Multi-County Reproduction Management Workshop on May 16 OR May 17, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Workshop organizers are looking for three producers to participate each day from each of the participating counties (Atascosa, Wilson, Frio, Medina, and Bexar). RSVPs are due by May 5; space is limited, so sign up early! Cost is $15.
We will be collecting plastic shopping bags (Walmart, HEB, Department Stores, etc.) to take to Texas A&M to make sleeping mats for the homeless during Texas 4-H Roundup. Horizons is a camp featuring five different 4-H project learning programs. Each participant will select from one of the five programs to be offered.
