This training is for all 4-H'ers interested in learning more about the Consumer Decision Making project, mark your calendar for a mock contest on Saturday, Oct. 15th, from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the 4-H office (3355 Cherry Ridge, SA, Tx. 78230) in S-208. Learn how to get the “biggest bang for your buck” with this project. Members study and compare relative qualities and prices of a set of items to determine which offers the best value for the money. Bexar County 4-H youth will be given the opportunity to design a commemorative fiesta medal on behalf of the Bexar County 4-H program. Designs will be judged on their creativity & how well the medal represents 4-H & Fiesta! The winner’s design will be chosen as the 2017 Bexar County 4-H Fiesta Medal! These workshops are open to all 4-H ages and are a learning series to help youth meet their required learning lessons in the veterinary science project. Some lessons will be in a classroom, but several lessons will be hands on. Recordbooks are a great way to keep track of what you have done in 4-H. When you decide to do a recordbook, you pick one category you want to complete your recordbook in. If rabbits were your strongest project this year, you would select the Rabbit category, which includes writing about them in your story, including pictures of you and your rabbits, a write up of how you cared for them and if you exhibited at any contests. The District 5 4‐H Youth Development Program is pleased to announce an opportunity for county 4‐H programs to have adult volunteers, teen leaders and County Extension Agents certified as coaches in the following shooting sports disciplines: archery, pistol, shotgun or rifle. National 4-H Council is now accepting applications for the 2017 4-H Youth in Action Awards to be presented at the Legacy Awards in Washington, D.C. on March 21, 2017. Awards will recognize one remarkable 4-H’er within each pillar area: Agriculture; Citizenship; Healthy Living; and STEM.
