Broiler order is due to our office by Monday, June 20th.  Please fill out the order form available here.  Minimum order per exhibitor/family is 25 chicks, maximum order is 75, in increments of 25 .  – New for 2016: each exhibitor MAY order an individual set of birds (up to 75) OR siblings within the same household may order and share a set of birds (up to 75).  Cost is $1.25 per chick.  Make your check payable to Bexar 4-H Fund.  

Nueces County 4-H Horsemanship School

Instructors are provided by the Texas A&M Univ. Equine Dept. Participants receive instruction on basic, intermediate, and advanced horsemanship skills and maneuvers and have the opportunity to practice them with guided instruction.  School is scheduled for June 20 – 21st at the RMB Fairgrounds, Horse Arena, Robstown, Texas.  Cost is  $45/participant (made payable to Nueces Co. 4-H).  Must be an enrolled 4-H member (grade 3 – 12).  This school is open to 4-H members outside Nueces Co. Club Manager 4-H Training

This training is open to any adult volunteers that would like to start a 4-H club. All 4-H clubs are invited to attend this training on Tuesday, June 21st , 6:30 p.m. at the County Extension office (3355 Cherry Ridge Dr.)  in S-208.  All charter paperwork will be provided to start the new 4-H year.  Club charters will be due to our office by July 8th.

Adult Training and Managing a Livestock Judging Program – DUE

This special adult workshop has been scheduled with our partners at Blinn College on Friday,  July 15, 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Blinn's agricultural center in Brenham.  Please make plans to attend and, also, share this information with others in your county such as coaches, volunteers and leaders.  There is a $25.00 registration fee that covers all training materials, lunch and other refreshments.  Deadline to register is July 8th.  For more information click here.  

Texas 4-H Dog Show

4-H members from all over the state, ranging in age from 8 to 18 will be competing. All breeds, including mixed, can compete after they have met the minimum requirements. Dog and 4-H member teams can compete in several different classes, such as: obedience, rally, conformation, showmanship, drill team or costume.  Texas 4-H Dog Show will be held July 8th – 10th, in Belton, Texas.

Beginner Shooting Sports Camp

A new camp meant especially for 4-H’ers getting into shooting sports.  This program is designed to safely introduce kids to shooting.  Participants will also get the chance to do their favorite 4-H camp activities such as dances, challenge course and team challenges.  Mark your calendar for Camp 1 - July 11 – 13 or  Camp 2 - July 13 – 15 at the 4-H Center in Brownwood.  Cost is $180/youth or $85/adult.
