Welcome to Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Bexar County Agriculture & Natural Resources program emphasizes systems approaches that maintain and enhance agricultural profitability through the application of sound crop and animal production practices. We address issues associated with the social and environmental impacts of food safety and quality, surface and ground water contamination, biotechnology and natural resource management. The program addresses educational needs related to the management, use and sustains ability of renewable and nonrenewable natural resources. Drawing on a variety of disciplines, these programs typically focus on such topics as soil, water, air, plant and animal life, forests, rangelands and aquatic and other ecosystems.

Bexar Ag/NR Committee College Scholarship

The Bexar Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee is pleased to announce the initiation of a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating high school senior in Bexar County who plans to pursue an Agriculture-related degree at a Texas college or university during the 2024-2025 academic year. Applicants must be current graduating high school seniors with a 3.0 or higher GPA. For Scholarship details and application click below.

Texas Master Naturalist – Alamo Area Chapter

The mission of the Alamo Area Chapter is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers who provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our community for the state of Texas. A Texas Master Naturalist is a well-trained Texas Parks & Wildlife and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension certified volunteer who is passionate about the natural world and is eager to share his or her knowledge and experiences with others. Texas Master Naturalists serve their local community by assisting with activities that involve education about the preservation, restoration, and conservation of natural resources.
