Tomatoes are ready to be harvested when they change from a dark green to a light green-white color at the stem attachment. For maximum production, pick them early and let them ripen on the kitchen counter.

Keep suckers/water spouts pruned off developing fruit trees-they emerge from the root stock and will take over if unattended.

Let your wildflowers go to seed before mowing.

If your red-tip photinias require constant pruning and spraying, consider replacing them with burford holly, compact nandina, xylosma, eleagnus, or pyracantha.
