GARDENING CALENDAR
TEXAS AGRILIFE EXTENSION SERVICE
BEXAR COUNTY BY DAVID RODRIGUEZ
June 4, 2011
Add daylilies to your summer landscape pallet as they reach their peak of bloom this month. ‘Stella de Oro’ is a great standby.
Many of the spring planted vegetables are coming to an end. Eggplants, peppers, okra, small fruited tomatoes, and sweet potato may be carried into the fall if well maintained.
Fertilize container plants, hanging baskets and summer color plants regularly with a water-soluble fertilizer.
Make every drop of water count in the urban landscape. Familiarize yourself and become comfortable with the usage of drip irrigation systems.
