For wonderful Halloween and Thanksgiving seasonal color, plant some large blooming orange and yellow blooming Antigua “Mari-Mum” marigolds that are lightly budded.

Fertilize the fall vegetable garden a week or so before planting with a granulated fertilizer at a rate of two to three pounds per 15 linear row feet. Once plants are growing, then side dress them every third week.

The most efficient way to water your fall vegetable garden is to set up a drip irrigation system underneath a two inch layer of organic mulch.

Fall webworms are appearing on mulberry, pecan, ash, persimmon, and other trees. Spray Bacillus thuringiensis (BT) in the evening as a means of control.
