Add or replenish with a two inch layer of finely shredded organic cedar or native hardwood mulch around all plant material. This will help regulate the soil temperature as well as retain moisture deep in the root zone.

When mowing the lawn, remove only one-third of the grass blade. This will help to reduce stress to the grass during the hot temperatures.

This is a good time to plant palms in your landscape. Palms prefer hot weather for planting.

Prepare beds with liberal amounts of enriched compost for the fall vegetable garden. Locally grown heat setting tomato transplants should be planted now for a potential fall harvest.
