Youth Gardens Program

The Bexar County Youth Gardens Program is one of the many programs of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and is designed to provide educators, volunteers, and community leaders with an innovative method for using gardens as outdoor classrooms.

With our new way of programming and eliminating face-to-face education, we will be facilitating this training online. Please complete at least 2 lessons of your choice from our Gardening 101 AgriLife Learn Online Courses before September 18. They are free and can be done at your own pace.  Click here to join.

Then join us for the 2020 Fall Youth Garden Educator Training class live. This training is designed for teachers, educators, and volunteers in support of youth gardening in the classroom and community.  If you’re interested in starting a gardening program in your school/community or you’re looking for ways to enhance your already existing youth garden, do not miss this educational opportunity!

With registration, teachers/volunteers must provide a Group Enrollment Form per school to enroll their students in the Classroom Gardens Program.  A Garden Starter Kit will be distributed to youth gardens that have submitted a Group Enrollment Form (one Garden Starter Kit per school).
