TEXAS COOPERATIVE EXTENSION

- Now is a great time for construction. Most contractors are in off-season now, so think about building decks, retaining walls or pools.
- Begin harvesting pecans. Pecans will maintain their fresh taste if stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Build compost bins now if you don=t have one. Autumn leaves can be raked, composted, and ready for spring gardening.
- Repair lawn and garden equipment now. Sharpen blades on mowers and drain equipment of old gas before storing. Check your irrigation system for any broken heads or emitters.
