  • Divide and replant Mexican mint marigold (Yerba Anise) and chrysanthemums for more flowers in the fall.
  • Prune actively growing shrubs, such as eleagnus and pyracantha, frequently.
  • Sun-loving flowers such as portulaca (moss rose) and purslane can still be planted.
  • Fertilize container plants and hanging baskets regularly with a water-soluble fertilizer.
