• Check your irrigation system for mis-aligned heads, leaks or broken heads, and make repairs.
• You can still sow marigold and zinnia seeds. They are less expensive than transplants and produce a beautiful show of color.
• If your hanging baskets don’t seem to be holding water, it might be the type of soil or it maybe root bound. If it is root bound, repot the plant. Soils with a lot of peat moss may prevent the soil from wetting properly. Try adding a few drops of liquid detergent to your water for better wetting. During hot periods, it may be necessary to soak the baskets in a tub of water for a few minutes to completely wet them.
