Summer job opportunity for youth ages 15-18. PAID position and includes FULLY PAID EXPENSES! Participation in workshop will require attendees to bring 3-5 docile cows that have been exposed to a bull over 90 days and possibly one cow that is open. Participants may attend the 2017 Multi-County Reproduction Management Workshop on May 16 OR May 17, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Workshop organizers are looking for three producers to participate each day from each of the participating counties (Atascosa, Wilson, Frio, Medina, and Bexar). RSVPs are due by May 5; space is limited, so sign up early! Cost is $15.
The District Horse Show is scheduled for June 13 - 14, 2016 at the Uvalde County Fairplex - 215 Veterans Ln., Uvalde, Tx. Registration will be available from May 2nd - May 19th on 4-H Connect. We will be collecting plastic shopping bags (Walmart, HEB, Department Stores, etc.) to take to Texas A&M to make sleeping mats for the homeless during Texas 4-H Roundup. Leadership Lab will be held June 19th – 21st for 4-H members ages 13-18 at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. All 4-H members with any type of dog are welcome to join.
