These workshops are open to all 4-H members. These judging contests are designed for teams of 3 - 4 members in the same age division (Junior – grades 3 - 5, Intermediate (grades 6 - 8, Senior – Grades 9 - 12) to demonstrate their skills in evaluation and observation. Members use the knowledge and skills they have about the subject matter to place the class from best to worst and also develop public speaking skills through learning how to present reasons on why they placed a class as they did. Late fee is $45 until April 6th. Contest is Saturday, May 6th at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds in Fredericksburg. The Bexar County Dog Squad is a competitive 4-H dog club that focuses on learning all aspects of dog care and training with the emphasis on competing at the State Dog Show in July. If you will be exhibiting a steer at the 2017 Bexar County and/or 2018 Major Stocks Shows, steers are required to be validated. Validation tag order is due to our office by Thursday, April 13th. Cost is $20.00 per head. Late tags will be $40.00 each. Order form is available here. Steer validation dates, times and location will be announced shortly. There is a drop slot in the front door to help you meet this deadline.
If you will be exhibiting a goat or lamb at the 2016 State Fair of Texas stock show, animals require a validation tag to be put in its ear. Tags are $20 each. Validation tag orders will be due to our office by Thursday, April 13th. Order form is available here. Validation date, time and location will be announced soon.
All Heifers to be shown at the 2017 Bexar County Junior Livestock Show and 2018 Major Livestock Shows are required to be validated.
