If you are interested in learning about rabbits, please mark your calendar for a Rabbit Clinic on Thursday, Oct. 1^st, 6:30 p.m. at the 4-H office (3355 Cherry Ridge S-208).

Rabbits for the Bexar County Junior Livestock Show (BCJLS) will exhibit on Thursday, December 31, 2015.  Rules state that the market rabbits shall not be over 70 days old on the day of the show and typical gestation is 31 days.  That means the breed date for the show is September 21^st.   You will need these dates when ordering rabbits.   If you have not ordered your meat pen rabbits yet, please plan on doing so soon.  Most meat pen breeders only breed for pens that are pre-ordered, and meat pen rabbits may be difficult to obtain if not ordered by September 21^st.   Please find attached a few lists of breeders.

Rabbits must be validated.  Validation dates are Monday, November 30, 2015 at East Central High School – Wood Shop; Tuesday December 1, 2015 at Southwest High School- Ag Class; and Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Helotes Ag Center.

Bexar County Junior Livestock Show also has a breeding rabbit and showmanship contest.   Entries are due to the show by Nov. 1^st, however, please check with your Club Manager for their club deadline date.
