We had enough interest and folks on the waiting list from the April class to open a second Beekeeping Basics Class in May! The class will be held May 4 with a field day on May 5. If you have an interest in beekeeping and/or learning how to start your own bee hives for pleasure, environmental stewardship, or to enhance pollination, join us for the May 4-5 program! This program is meant for first-time beekeepers or those with very limited experience and is presented by experienced beekeepers and entomologists. Anyone can be a beekeeper–young or old, city or country dweller!
During this course, we will cover the basics of bees and beekeeping, including bee biology, beekeeping equipment and tools, space and time requirements, and beekeeping for tax exemption. A hands-on field day to a beekeeper’s yard in Leon Springs on May 5. A bee suit will be provided.
