Beekeeping Basics

April 13, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$65.00

If you have an interest in beekeeping and/or learning how to start your own bee hives for pleasure, environmental stewardship, or to enhance pollination, join us for the Beekeeping Basics program!  This program is meant for first-time beekeepers or those with very limited experience and is presented by experienced beekeepers and entomologists.  Anyone can be a beekeeper–young or old, city or country dweller!

During this course, we will cover the basics of bees and beekeeping, including bee biology, beekeeping equipment and tools, space and time requirements, and beekeeping for tax exemption.  A hands-on field day to a beekeeper’s yard will be held April 14 or 15 — two dates from which you can choose to participate.  A bee suit will be provided.

Cost is $65 and online registration is required.
