This will be an exciting night. If you turned in a recordbook, you will receive a year pin and project medal at the Awards Program. If you applied for the Gold Star, Silver Star, Bronze Star or I Dare You Awards, the winners will be acknowledged this night. We also recognize adult volunteers for all their hard work with a small token. Please mark your calendar for Friday, August 12th, 6 p.m. at the Helotes Activity Center. Please see invitation here for more information. You can register for the event at https://agriliferegister.tamu.edu/BexarCounty . You must pre-register if you want a meal for $4 a plate. Registration deadline is Friday, August 5th. A silent auction will be held during the program to help raise money for the new 4-H year. Bidding begins at 6 p.m,. – 6:45 p.m., closes during the program and will be open for final bidding again from 8 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The community service in conjunction with the Awards Program will be collection of yarn and baby fabric to donate to the “Threads of Love” who make blankets for premature babies. Bring your items with you on Friday, August 12th.
Auction Items Needed
In conjunction with the Awards Program a silent auction is conducted to raise money for the new 4-H year. Everyone is encouraged to help provide an item for the auction. It could be as simple as a baked item (cookies, cake, etc.) or an arts and craft item. Please let us know in advance if you are planning on donating to allow us time to do up a bidder sheet and allow room for your item. You are welcome to drop off the item at our office between now and Thursday, August 11th, or you can drop off your item at the Helotes Activity Center during set up on Thursday, Aug. 11th from 5 – 6:30 p.m. If it is a baked item you may take it the evening of the program (Aug. 12th) by 5:30 p.m.
