Here are some of David’s favorite gardening books that he recommends for the newest or polished gardener for 2012.

  •  Aspire to be a better vegetable gardener in 2012.  Dr. Sam Cotner’s, The Vegetable Book, would encourage and guide you to your best garden ever.
  • Heirloom Gardening in the South written by Dr. Bill Welch and Greg Grant adds excitement and enjoyment for your landscape pleasure.
  • Backyard gardeners who are growing an edible landscape with fruit trees or large scale orchards would greatly benefit from Drs. Jim Kamas’ and Larry Steins’, Texas Peach Handbook.  And, it’s not just about growing peaches.
  • Dr. Doug Welsh’s Texas Gardening Almanac is a monthly guideline with do’s and don’ts for the garden.
  • Commonsense Vegetable Gardening for the South by William Adams and Thomas Leroy is a must for everyone’s gardening library.
  • Neil Sperry’s Complete Guide to Texas Gardening is the gardening bible of Texas.
  • Malcolm Beck’s Lesson in Nature Book gives a great prospective of being a good steward to the environment.
