The fall fertilization of the lawn, trees, shrubs, and flower beds is crucial more than ever. Especially coming out of one of the hottest summers on record. A naturally based organic formulation of choice should be applied at a rate of 20 pounds per 1000 square feet proceeded by thoroughly watering it in. Wait till mid-October, if a synthetic formulation like a 15-5-10 or 18-6-12 is preferred at an application rate of 5 to 7 pounds per 1000 square feet.

If you were pessimistic and didn’t plant your fall tomatoes and having regrets, never fail there is hope. Consider planting the best heat setting selection available called ‘Surefire’. With all things equal, you should have fresh tomatoes for the Thanksgiving meal.

Resetting and rejuvenating landscapes this fall through next spring is going to be challenging for many. This is an opportunity to do it right or more efficiently. Consulting with a Certified Texas Nursery and Landscape Professional or Landscape contractor is the key for long-term success. This is having a landscape which is colorful, low maintenance and beautiful 12 months of the year.

Bees and butterflies are always an important part of a balanced landscape. Always have an array of blooming annuals and perennials 12 months for an ample food supply.
