Benefits of Healthy Eating & Physical Activity (LGEG MyPlate & Go, Slow, Whoa Activities)
Target Audience: Youth 6-10 years of age
Date: Saturday, April 29, 2017
Venue: Lockwood Park | 801 N. Olive St. | San Antonio, TX 78202
Arrival Time: Between 9:30AM-3:30PM (*dependent upon shift selection—see sign-up sheet attached)
Time of Event: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Attire: Remember to wear your 4-H shirts and nametags!
Objective: United Way Kids Festival is a free, community event for families in San Antonio and Bexar County. It will be an event highlighted during the wrap-up of Fiesta San Antonio’s festivities. Over 65 booths (non-profits, school districts and city services) will provide information, activities, and entertainment focusing on the celebration and promotion of early childhood development. There will be a large variety of activities being offered for children of all ages. Kids Festival will have a Showmobile stage hosting numerous entertainment acts along with mascot characters. City officials will welcome participants and attendants throughout the day.
Volunteers are needed to assist with set of booth, leading MyPlate healthy eating game, and leading the Go, Slow, Whoa! physical activity games (i.e. “Red-Light-Green-Light”, hula hoops, jump ropes, hop scotch).
