If Bermuda or St. Augustine turfgrasses become unmanageable around ornamentals or flower beds, control them with contact herbicides such as Grass-B-Gone, Vantage, Poast Fusilade or Ornamec. Manage works well on nutsedge.

Rotate interior houseplants so each side receives adequate light for even growth and balanced shape.

The white, frothy material deposited along stems and leaves may be caused by spittlebugs. Spittlebugs suck the juices from plants but do not usually require spraying.

Peaches, plums, blackberries, citrus, and pecans with developing fruit must receive regular moisture (about one inch a week) or the fruit will not develop appropriately and may be dropped. Figs are especially sensitive to dry soil.

Prune out old blackberry canes (the ones that bore fruit this year) to make way for the new canes.
