  • Look for spittle bugs on pecans. Spittle bugs form a frothy mass that looks like saliva. This bug is a sucking insect and can damage the nutlets on trees. Control with registered pesticide.
  • Prepare beds for fall vegetable gardens. Tomatoes should be planted now for the fall.
  • Treat any standing water with Bt products to prevent mosquitoes from hatching.
  • Mulch plants in containers to help reduce frequency of watering during hot temperatures.
