Gift of Time Award Nominations -DUE

A Gift of Time award is given to an individual or business who has provided exemplary support to the Bexar County 4-H Program.  More details are available in our Awards & Recognition Handbook (http://bexar-tx.tamu.edu/files/2011/11/Awards-Handbook-2017-FINAL.pdf).  We need your help to identify the individual or business who are deserving of this award.  Submission deadline is  Monday, June 5th – 8:00 a.m. to the 4-H office.    Reminder, there is a drop slot in the front door to assist you in making deadlines.

Club Scrapbooks – DUE

Put all your photos together and get that scrapbook done.  Scrapbooks are due to our office on or  before Monday, June 5th – 8:00 a.m..  There will be cash awards for 1st - 3rd placings.  Scrapbook guidelines are available here.     NO LATE SCRAPBOOKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Texas 4-H Roundup

Texas 4-H Roundup is scheduled for June 6 -9 in College Station.  If you are planning on attending Texas Roundup, a list of hotels is available here.  Book it early, rooms fill up fast.

Urban Wildlife Series

The Urban Wildlife Series will be conducted on June 8 (Thursday), June 29 (Thursday), July 11 (Tuesday), July 25 (Tuesday), and August 8 (Tuesday), from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the Bexar County Extension Office, Suite 208.  Cost is $25 for the series or $10 per class (payable at the door).  RSVP by Friday, June 2, for the series.  Topics to be covered include local resources and tools for wildlife identification and management, appreciating backyard wildlife, snakes and other reptiles, urban nuisance wildlife, and managing for songbirds.... Horizons is a camp featuring five different 4-H project learning programs. Each participant will select from one of the five programs to be offered. Mission Possible Camp – DUE

This camp is an inclusive camp for youth with and without disabilities. Fun activities will include: kayaking, shooting sports, challenge course, arts and crafts, environmental education, swimming, dancing, and lots more. Camp Outdoor Challenge – DUE

Texas 4-H Shooting Sports State Games – DUE

Hunting & Wildlife, Muzzle Loading, Pistol & Rifle Events – July 9 – 14, at the Austin Rifle Club, Manor.  Archery Events – July 16 – 22 at the National Shooting Complex, San Antonio.  Shotgun Events – July 18-22 at the National Shooting Complex, San Antonio. State Fair of Texas – Dallas, Broiler Order – DUE

Broiler order is due to our office by Monday, June 19th.  Please fill out the order form available here.  Minimum order per exhibitor/family is 25 chicks, maximum order is 75, in increments of 25 .  – Each exhibitor MAY order an individual set of birds (up to 75) OR siblings within the same household may order and share a set of birds (up to 75).  Cost is $1.25 per chick.  Make your check payable to Bexar 4-H Fund.
