Judging contests are designed for teams of 3 – 4 members in the same age division (Junior – grades 3 – 5, Intermediate (grades 6 – 8, Senior – Grades 9 – 12) to demonstrate their skills in evaluation and observation. Members use the knowledge and skills they have about the subject matter to place the class from best to worst and also develop public speaking skills through learning how to present reasons on why they placed a class as they did. Registration will be on 4-H Connect from Mar. 14th – 22nd. Select 2015-2016 District 10 Entomology Contest or 2015 – 2016 District 10 Meats Judging Contest. Cost is $10 per individual payable by credit card.
Entomology Judging is Saturday, April 9th at the Bexar County 4-H office in S-208. -Entomology Identification – Identify selected insects and complete a written examination on insects. Questions will be selected primarily from “Study Materials for 4-H Entomology Contests”. Meats Judging is Wednesday, April 20th in San Angelo. -Meats Judging – Meat judging and identification is the evaluation and selection of cuts of meats from beef, swine and sheep species.
