Plant ‘Seascape’ Strawberry transplants now through October. Make sure from now to the end of December, that all flowers and long shoots are pinched off. This will put energy back into the plant’s crown to produce up to one pint of fruit per plant starting in April of next year.

A properly selected, well planted, and maintained tree will afford benefits such as energy and water conservation, improved air quality and reduced water run-off. Utilize the Texas Forest Service’s tree finder guide to help with the selection.

Incorporate generous amounts of enriched organic compost to all newly planted beds, shrubs, and trees. As well as a two inch top layer of an organic living mulch. This will build the soil, cut back on weeds and help insulate for the winter.

Build a compost pile to collect the upcoming falling autumn foliage as well as any excess yard or indoor kitchen waste. Visit Aggie Horticulture for more details.
