If you have nematode problems in your garden, forego a fall garden and go with Elbon cereal rye. Add compost, fertilizer, till and seed.

With rainy days and cooler nights, comes brown patch fungus disease in the turfgrass. Treat with F-Stop granules.

Replace cucumber vines with English peas, snow peas, and or sugar snaps. They will produce through a mild winter into early spring.

Mulch newly planted trees and shrubs with a two inch layer of an organic cedar or native hardwood mulch to maximize water efficiency and root development throughout the fall and winter months. Replenish the mulch twice a year, but never cover the crowns of the plants.
