- February into March is a good time to plant tomatoes in containers. Varieties good for this area: Merced, Bingo and Celebrity.
- Mulching tomatoes and peppers will conserve water and aid in bloom set.
- Fertilize cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli.
- Apply a light application of fertilizer to established pansy plantings. Use one-half pound of ammonium sulfate per 100 sq. ft. of bed area. Repeat the application in 4 to 6 weeks depending on rainfall.
