• Visit a Texas certified nursery professional at your favorite independent nursery or garden center for gift plants and other gardening gift ideas, as well as decorating items for your home.

• Newly purchased Poinsettias plants should be kept away from cold or hot drafts, but near a bright sunny window. Never let the plants get too dry.

• Cut back Asparagus plants to ground level and mulch with two inches of enriched compost.
  

• To accelerate growth and higher production of your winter vegetables crops such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, Brussels sprouts, onions and others, side-dress plants every 14-21 days with a slow release nitrogen fertilizer consisting of a 19-5-9 analysis at a rate of one half cup per 10 linear row feet. Water in thoroughly.
