Keep lawn clear of leaf debris. Consider mowing at the mower's highest height.
Side dress your vegetables with 21-0-0 or fertilize if needed with a water-soluble fertilizer.
January is a good time to train and trim up trees. Use either a pruning sealant or latex-based paint on oak trees.
Plant onion bunches now every 2-3 inches. Trim to 4 to 6 inches in 4 to 6 weeks as green salad onions. Let other onions mature to larger bulbs.
Plant shamrock seeds now for lucky St. Patrick Day plants.
