Our History

The Family Alliance Council was established in 1994 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to building healthy families.

The first FAC meeting was held on August 16, 1994, at Las Palapas Restaurant at 410 and Evers. The membership in 1994-1995 was made up of attorneys, doctors and individuals in business.

From 1996 to present, the membership has included representatives from Texas Cooperative Extension, City of San Antonio, Texas Department of Human Services, Texas Department of Health, Edgewood Independent School District, Carelink, Project Better Future, Parent/Child Incorporated, and the Crisis Community Coalition of the United Way, Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department and University of Texas-downtown campus.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated on March 15, 1995.

The first FAC training was held on September 16, 1994 where 13 volunteers were trained.
