Photography Project

The Photography Project can be completed through individual study or in a group setting. Many 4-H members add photography as a second project by taking pictures of their 4-H work and the activities of their club. Others concentrate on learning to photograph nature, portraits or events. There are many opportunities to display photographs and to enter into contests.

Notices on these contests can be obtained from Club Managers or in the 4-H newsletter. The Bexar County 4-H Photography Contest is one that takes place in the spring. Our contest qualifies the winners of each category to have their photographs entered in the State 4-H Photography Contest. We simplify the state entry rules for the county level and do not require you to mount or enlarge your photographs to enter. After the contest is over, the winners are asked to enlarge and mount their photographs according to state guidelines. State guidelines can be downloaded here.
