Calendar Planning Meeting, Thursday, June 22nd, Extension Office  7 p.m.

4-H Leaders and members get together once per year to set dates for our events and training opportunities.  It is very helpful to have people who represent a variety of project areas and different sections of our county.  We try hard to set dates far in advance so everyone can plan their busy schedules around 4-H events.  Please plan to attend this important meeting if you can.

Record Book Judging, Friday, July 7th, Extension Office, 9-4 p.m.

Many 4-H members choose to produce Record Books as a formal way to record their 4-H learning and accomplishments.  These books can then be entered in a contest.  Bexar County trades Record Books with two other counties to evaluate the books and determine which will be selected for the next level of competition.  Judging of other county books will take place on July 7th at the Bexar County Extension Office.  Judging of Bexar County books will take place on another day in another county.

Donors Needed

Donors are needed to sponsor the newsletter.  Our postage budget was cut this year and we are seeking sponsors to help defray the cost of mailing the newsletter.  Sponsors are recognized in print in several places in the newsletter and can place a full-page flyer as an insert.  The newsletter sponsor is also recognized in the newsletter portion of the Bexar County 4-H Web Site.   Cost is approximately $75.

Printing Help Needed:

It is a challenge to not exceed our copying allotment each month.  We do not run out of paper, but out of our copy budget on the Extension Service copy machine.  The newsletter alone uses up nearly all of our allotment.  Free printing of our newsletter, one of our major print needs (Awards & Recognition Handbook, Officer Training Materials, Club Manager Packets, etc) or even our tri-fold 4-H brochures would be extremely helpful.  We will recognize the printer in our newsletter.  The printer can also take the value of the print work as a tax deduction since Bexar County 4-H is a non-profit organization.  Please call Karen or Pam if you have some suggestions.
